TU Zdrowie is growing steadily and closes the first half of the year with a significant increase in results
TU Zdrowie closes the first half of 2021 with a net profit of over PLN 3 million and earned premiums of PLN 44 million. These are significant increases compared to the previous year. The insurer is successively expanding the product portfolio with new health programs for the insured, as well as modifies the Policyholder Panel to completely replace the paper document workflow.
We had a very successful first half of 2021. In the period from January to June, we once again achieved record results – earned premiums amounted to PLN 44,010 thousand, an increase of 16.2% compared to the previous year. In turn, the net profit earned in this period is PLN 3,283 thousand, which is 37.8% higher than in 2020. This is a great merit of our partners and all employees of TU Zdrowie - says Aleksander Roda, CEO of TU Zdrowie.
In the first half of this year, TU Zdrowie completed one of its key projects, namely the modification of the Policyholder Panel. The panel was enhanced with a number of new functionalities giving HR departments full control over the health policy for their employees. It allows for independent administration of the list of persons enrolled in the insurance, introducing changes, generating reports and current insight into the payment schedule. The entire process takes place on a secure electronic platform, which reduces the time previously needed for paper document circulation.
In the Policyholder Panel, the e-declaration feature was also implemented to simplify the process of taking out insurance in TU Zdrowie. E-declarations allow each employee to individually select the insurance variant, as well as to enter the data of family members whom they want to include in the insurance. At the same time, HR departments taking care of the policies retain full control over the entered data, saving time and avoiding errors.
Another improvement that will facilitate the management of referrals to occupational physicians and full control over the validity of employees’ certificates will be the Occupational Medicine Panel, which will soon be implemented in the Policyholder Panel.
- We are also constantly working on the development of our product offering. An expression of recent changes in our offer is the health program Recovering from Covid-19 addressed to people who were confirmed to have been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This program can complement the offer of insurance companies that have life insurance policies in their offer -adds President Alexander Roda.
On January 29 this year, the listed company NEUCA SA conditionally acquired a majority stake (50.2%) in Pomerania Investment SA, thus becoming the major shareholder of TU Zdrowie. This is part of NEUCA’s strategy of systematically increasing its share in the patient area. The investment broadens the portfolio of the Group – one of the leading players on the Polish health market – by the area of health insurance, which until now was not present in its offer.
- Thanks to the merger, the existing network of medical facilities cooperating with TU Zdrowie will be expanded by 68 primary care outpatient clinics. This will allow the Company’s customers even better access to physicians of various specialties, making it easier to maintain a guarantee of short appointment times. Cooperation with a new partner in the area of telemedicine and IT development will contribute to maintaining high efficiency of IT solutions, uninterrupted communication between the insured and doctors, quick access to selected medical services as well as to the insurance portfolio - emphasizes Aleksander Roda.
A measurable benefit resulting from this cooperation will also be for TU Zdrowie the ability to use the largest independent network of clinical research centers in Poland, owned by the NEUCA Group. This also includes the Group’s know-how, which will allow TU Zdrowie to better tailor and implement dedicated health programs for its customers.
