Health insurance policy for family members
One in five employees insured with TU Zdrowie chooses to include their family members, i.e. spouse or life partner and/or children, in their health insurance policy. Children of school age and younger currently account for around 13% of all the insureds. Every Tu Zdrowie insured can access the option to extend the insurance package to include family members or partners.
- The very insureds decide on policy coverage and options, and our data shows that many people with families choose to include both their spouses and their children, who make up an increasing proportion of beneficiaries of TU Zdrowie’s guaranteed benefits. This solution is advantageous; for example, this year alone, more than 80% of all house calls provided through TU Zdrowie were made to children and young people up to the age of 17. Immunizations, medical consultations and e-consultations are also popular in this age group, as are medical and nursing procedures, e.g. dermatological cryotherapy or dermatoscopy, ear lavage, application of orthopedic plaster dressings and test sample collection, change of dressing, intramuscular injection and removal of sutures - says Teresa Domańska, Director of TU Zdrowie’s Health Insurance Office.
Any TU Zdrowie employee policy holder can extend their insurance package to include their family members. All you have to do is enter your spouses’ or children’s data via the e-Declaration module in the Insured Panel and then select the insurance option according to your needs. Importantly, you are not required to submit copies of any documents. You only need to generate a declaration confirming willingness to take out insurance and accepting the amount of the premium that will be deducted from your salary by your employer.
- There are many advantages to this solution, not least at a time of extending queues to public healthcare practitioners and services. With TU Zdrowie insurance, appointments with specialists are not subject to a GP’s referral. Instead, the maximum waiting time for an appointment and the distance of the provider from the place of stay are precisely defined in the insurance contract - stresses Teresa Domańska.
The insureds who wish to receive health services do not have to rely solely on the providers cooperating with TU Zdrowie. If they prefer to choose a doctor on their own, all they have to do is fill in an electronic application after the appointment and, via the application, send a photo or a scan of the bill for the assistance provided, and then the insurer will reimburse the costs of the consultation and possible diagnostics or treatments within a few days of the application. This means complete freedom and virtually unlimited access to all commercial medical centers in Poland.
The TU Zdrowie health insurance contract provides reimbursement for appointments with any doctor by default. The benefit amount depends on the terms and conditions of the contract and can even amount to 100% of the value of the services provided.
