TeleRefund policy - open access to the medical services market
The CSO data reveals that spending on private healthcare is growing year on year. In 2020 only, Poles spent PLN 44.2 billion on private treatment, which is PLN 2.5 billion more than a year earlier. Many factors add to the problems with access to public healthcare - from public system underfunding, through lengthening queues as a result of the pandemic, to the shortage of medical staff and the migration of doctors from smaller towns to large urban centers.
- The issue of doctor availability no longer applies only to public, but also to private health care. Commercial service providers find it increasingly difficult to keep up with the availability standards set out in their customer contracts. In such a situation, the patient finds a solution in the TeleRefund policy, where the holder makes an appointment with the selected doctor at a convenient time and in any place in Poland, and then receives a refund of the incurred costs - says Dariusz Grądziel, Sales Director at TU Zdrowie.
The best health insurance policies open up access to the entire market of healthcare services. This is up to the insured to decide which doctor they choose and how much they can spend on a visit. A health insurance contract in TU Zdrowie by default provides for reimbursement of costs of a visit to any doctor in the amount determined by the terms and conditions of the contract. Such reimbursement may be up to 100% of the value of rendered services. Moreover, the solution is structured in such a way that the insured can use any service covered by the insurance model, including diagnostic tests, treatments, home visits, preventive vaccinations, rehabilitation, as well as dental services.
- The insured can benefit from the refund without first informing TU Zdrowie of such intention. All they have to do is fill out an online request in the Insured Panel or mobile app and attach a scan or photo of the bill. TU Zdrowie will promptly review such a request and will make payment of due benefit to the account of the insured. Today, this process takes us about 4 days on average - adds Dariusz Grądziel.
TU Zdrowie experts report that an increasing number of employers in both large cities and smaller towns are opting for medical reimbursement policies. It is not only large companies that are interested in them, but also small companies hiring about a dozen employees who previously had no healthcare benefits.
- The scale of queries regarding employee policies is now enormous, and this is due to the fact that in the times of the pandemic employers have acknowledged the need to provide medical treatment to their employees. Our experience shows that despite the financial crisis faced by many companies, none of them has abandoned the healthcare benefit, and many of them are looking for broader insurance coverage or solutions that deliver better quality. Today, many employers are fully aware of real risk that if they do not take proper care of their employees’ health, in one, three, five years, that is to say, “shortly,” they may face a threat to the stability of their companies, because there will be a shortage of “hands to work,” and the performance of the other employees may decrease due to poor health - says Dariusz Grądziel.
With the TeleRefund policy, in addition to the reimbursement model, the insured can also benefit from free-of-charge telemedicine consultations arranged by TU Zdrowie, held within a maximum of a few hours of request. Such service is very easy to order online with the already mentioned tools, i.e. Insured Panel or mobile application.
