Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeń Zdrowie has extended its Health Programme product offering. My Dietitian programme is to support the process of treating type 2 diabetes, gout, high blood pressure and osteoporosis.
My Dietitian is a thoughtfully constructed programme to assist the insured in treating diet-related diseases. When dealing with chronic ailments, a well-balanced diet is the key element to support appropriate pharmacological treatment, it limits development of the illness and complications related to it.
My Dietitian health programme includes:
• regular, direct contact with TU Zdrowie Medical Consultant
• essential specialist consultations
• diagnostic laboratory tests
• diagnostic imaging test
• dietitian’s care
• meal plan
“TU Zdrowie introduces comprehensive solution that is not reduced just to visiting a dietitian and choosing one of the ready-made meal plans. The programme gives possibility to receive personalised diagnosis based on numerous tests and consultations. The insured can be certain that the meal plan will be prepared with individual medical and social (lifestyle, profession) conditions taken into consideration, thus efficiently assisting the treatment process,” explains Teresa Domańska, Health Insurance Department Director.
The process consists of 8 stages that define its order and, most importantly, make it possible to verify whether actions taken so far are effective.
1. Diagnosis
2. Request to start the programme
3. Consultation with the dietitian (first visit and meal plan)
4. Consultation with the dietitian (check-up visit)
5. Consultation with the dietitian (check-up visit + meal plan)
6. Consultation with the dietitian (check-up visit)
7. Health education
8. Verification of test results and of progress made in therapy.
The programme may be availed by those insured with TU Zdrowie whose insurance covers My Dietitian programme and who have been diagnosed with one of the above mentioned illnesses. Having sent a request to start the programme, the insured is then looked after by a medical consultant, who monitors the progress of the programme, helps arrange consultations, gives advice where diagnostic tests can be done in the shortest period of time.
There are practitioners of 14 specialities available for the insured, including psychologists and psychiatrists; 300 various types of tests: laboratory tests, ultrasound, X-rays and functional tests, in addition to nursing procedures, outpatient procedures performed by doctors, and health education.
It is estimated that 12 million people in Poland suffer from various ailments related to improper diet. Over 60% of Poles are overweight due to bad eating habits, sedentary lifestyle, lack of physical exercise and stress1 .
“People who have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, gout, high blood pressure or osteoporosis are particularly prone to complications related to incorrect nutrition. Type of food and its amount is important as it determines whether they are able to maintain proper body weight, acceptable levels of sugar, well-functioning kidneys, correct blood pressure. In other words, a well balanced diet inhibits the development of the illness and gives a high chance for a better quality of life,” states Edyta Jacyna, TU Zdrowie Medical Consultant.
TU Zdrowie also offers other Health Programmes, i.e. My Oncologist, My Orthopaedist, Treatment After Traffic Accident, Hospital Treatment Continuation. The programmes were created in order to optimise organising the diagnostic process and treatment with the help and support of a personal medical consultant.
