My Orthopedist – treating post-injury bone and joint complications
The insured at TU Zdrowie who require orthopedic treatment as a result of bone and joint injuries can benefit from the My Orthopedist program. It includes a package of medical consultations and treatments, laboratory and imaging tests, as well as outpatient rehabilitation.
The My Orthopedist Program was launched for the insured struggling with post-injury complications and requiring long-term medical care and rehabilitation.
- As part of the My Orthopedist Program, the insured has access to a range of medical consultations, including professorial consultations, medical and nursing treatments, laboratory, functional and imaging tests – X-ray, ultrasound, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, as well as outpatient rehabilitation - says Teresa Domańska, Director of the TU Zdrowie Health Insurance Office.
In order to participate in the program, all you have to do is fill in a request form and send it by e-mail or use the form in the Insured’s Panel or mobile application. Attached to the request should be medical documentation confirming the occurrence of the injury. After sending the request, the insured waits for the contact from the medical consultant who will confirm the start of the My Orthopedist Program or, if necessary, will ask for additional documentation and additional information. Once enrolled in the Program, the medical consultant, in consultation with the insured, organizes the process of treatment, diagnosis and rehabilitation depending on the patient’s health needs.
- The medical consultant proposes to the person enrolling in the Program the place of examination and consultation, where medical services are provided free of charge, or indicates a specialist outside the network and then TU Zdrowie will cover 100% of the incurred costs. However, if the insured chooses a different facility than the one indicated by the consultant, TU Zdrowie will cover the cost up to the amount of the Upper Limit of Liability, that is the limit specified for the given medical service - adds Teresa Domańska.
In addition to My Orthopedist Program, TU Zdrowie offers other programs tailored for the insured who need an optimal diagnostic and treatment process:
- Recovering from COVID-19 (health check for the most common complications after COVID-19);
- My Oncologist (rapid diagnosis if cancer is suspected);
- My Nutritionist (treatment support for diet-related diseases including: type 2 diabetes, gout, hypertension, osteoporosis);
- Post traffic accident treatment (treatment of complications arising from a traffic accident);
- Continuation of inpatient treatment (treatment after hospitalization to recover as quickly as possible);
- Enrolling in a selected health program guarantees the insured access to a wide range of diagnostic and laboratory tests and to a large number of specialists. Importantly, the scope of benefits provided under the health plans is independent of the health insurance option held. A convenient feature of the health plans is the support of a medical consultant who coordinates the entire treatment and diagnostic process. Knowledge and experience of the consultant is a valuable hint for the insured, where to be treated, who is the best specialist in a given field and what tests should be performed to start the treatment process as soon as possible - says Teresa Domańska.
